Hungry Hungry Hippos Board Game for Preschoolers, Ages 4+, For 2 to 4 Players

<p>Jump into the jungle and join the feeding frenzy! In the Hungry Hungry Hippos kids board game, players try to make their hippo chomp the most marbles to win. First, everyone releases their marbles into the center—and the chomping begins! The faster a player presses their hippo's tail, the faster it will gobble the marbles. When the chomping madness is over, each player counts their marbles. (The golden marble is worth two!) Ready for a new game? The marbles instantly reload for nonstop action! And when it’s time to put the game away, store them in their convenient storage case. Then push up the back levers of each hippo, and the game fits neatly in its box. This fun and easy to learn preschool game for ages 4 and up is one of the best family games for game night, and it’s a laugh-out-loud indoor game for kids playdates. Looking for fun gifts for kids? Not the same game we had growing up. The levers on the hippos barely move and the heads to not raise as well as they used to. The lever to catapult the marbles back onto the board is so very difficult and you must hit it a few times to even work. not how it used to

Kid approved ages 6-2

by Becci

I got this for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas. She plays with her 5-year-old sister, 3 year old sister, and 2-year-old brother. They have so much fun. It's so easy to play even the 2-year-old has a great time. There was no assembly required, which was great.

Hungry Hippos is a classic kids game

by Terry

Hungry Hippo is a childhood classic. When building a collection for family game night, I thought of this. My 4 years old loves it. I would go and say that it's not made as well as past versions. The marbles are light plastic. Hungry Hippos is still as fun as ever. PS: If I was to by again, I would get Jurassic World Ravenous Raptors. It is a Hungry Hippos clone with dinosaurs. I didn't see it until I had already made the purchase.

Poor construction quality. Don't buy this version

by anonymous

Poor materials and construction. The mouth movement arm gets jammed on two of the four hippos. Most likely due to the spring used or the internal mechanism causing the hippo face and mouth to move forward and up then down and back/ retract. Also all four flip up ball returns work differently and it consistently either. Again due to poor construction material ball flip up mechanism…

When my 4 y.o. grandson first opened this gift, we saw all four grandchildren (13, 11, 10 y.o.) play happily for at least a half hour. And the game stood up to them!

cute game for kids

by Lacey

i love everything about this game. the hippos lever folds into itself for compact storage. the only reason for only 4 stars is because the box has an opening in the front i don't like.

Cheaply made

by Grandma

It is not the same as it used to be. It is so cheaply made I'll be surprised if it last til Christmas. Yet it was still $20. Stick with Chutes and Ladders for $9. At least you know it will last a few years

My sisters and I loved this game when we were younger. Now my nieces and nephews get to enjoy it. its a great way to keep them busy for a while while us adults gather to talk and play our own adult games during the holidays.

family fun for hours

by Deanna

I bought this for my 4 and 3-year-old grandkids and we literally spent hours playing it. they loved it so much that they had to take it home to Mommy and Daddy's house so Nana had to buy a new one for her house. highly recommend this easy, fun, entertaining game that holds toddlers attention for long periods of time.

Nostalgic and fun

Fun nostalgic Christmas present. It's a bit light weight compared to the old version. But it was fun and the grandkids liked it.
